In case you missed it – U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (R-NC), Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology, stressed the value of the Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) band today in conversation with Punchbowl News, reiterating his hope that FCC Chairman Brendan Carr will consider its resounding success before moving to disrupt CBRS as it looks for additional spectrum to auction

“CBRS is a band where a lot of innovation is happening right now. A lot of folks are pushing the envelope and coming up with new ways to do this… we definitely want to make sure [Chairman] Carr is taking into account what is happening in that band, is very careful as he makes decisions about what to make available for auction and not, and so I just want to put on the record some of those private conversations we’ve been having and make sure that the importance of what is happening in that band is considered,” said Rep. Hudson.

Rep. Hudson, along with 16 Republicans, recently wrote to Carr, urging him to “avoid disrupting or displacing” the vast ecosystem of U.S. companies and users who rely on dynamic spectrum sharing frameworks, like CBRS.
