ICYMI: Spectrum for the Future Executive Director Champions U.S. Leadership in Private Wireless at NTIA Spectrum Symposium

In case you missed it – At last week’s 2025 NTIA Spectrum Policy Symposium, Dave Wright, the policy director for Spectrum for the Future, highlighted the success of the Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) as a model for innovation and connectivity. Unlike exclusive licenses dominated by the largest carriers, CBRS demonstrates how shared spectrum can expand access, foster competition and support U.S. advanced manufacturing. As policymakers continue to examine U.S. spectrum allocations, CBRS offers a proven framework for advancing U.S. leadership in wireless technology.

“CBRS has made the U.S. the world leader in private wireless, and that’s not Dave Wright talking. It’s according to reports from the GSA … the Global Mobile Suppliers Association… So, this is an association of all the leading cellular manufacturers, suppliers, handset folks. And according to their reports, CBRS is the most widely used private wireless network or band in the world, and the U.S. is far in front of other countries when it comes to private wireless,” said Wright.
