ICYMI: John Deere Leverages CBRS-Powered 5G to Revolutionize American Manufacturing

In case you missed it – John Deere’s use of a private, CBRS-powered 5G network to power their manufacturing plant in Waterloo, Iowa, is setting a new “gold standard” for manufacturing. IndustryWeek’s Smart Manufacturers series recently spoke with the manufacturing leader’s chief network architect, Jason Wallin, about the benefits of a private 5G network and how John Deere is pushing the bounds of innovation using CBRS:

“I think one of the key things we see that is different because we have private cellular connectivity in the environment is, quite simply, our manufacturing data lake that we have. Manufacturing data that has that digital thread or the digital twin of our products has been able to expand greatly because we are now able to capture new data streams that we’ve not previously been able to do,” says Wallin in the interview.
