In case you missed it – Keefe John, CEO at a Wisconsin-based broadband provider, published an essay on LinkedIn explaining how small wireless internet providers—and the rural communities they support—will suffer if The Big Three carriers are successful in their efforts to destroy the Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) ecosystem. The CBRS band powers innovation across industries from advanced manufacturing to agriculture and everything in between.

“The stakes could not be higher. If AT&T succeeds, WISPs will face crippling costs to replace equipment, forcing many to shutter their operations. Rural families, already struggling under the weight of economic neglect, will lose access to the internet that powers their education, businesses, and healthcare. The digital divide will widen into a chasm, and the corporate giants will laugh all the way to the bank, their 5G towers looming over the wreckage of small-town dreams. This is not just about spectrum; it’s about sovereignty—about whether we, the American people, control our future or bow to the whims of unaccountable corporations,” wrote John.
