In case you missed it – Dave Wright, policy director for Spectrum for the Future, highlighted the continued success of the Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) band in a LinkedIn post following a Technology Policy Institute webinar as part of its Winter Spectrum Series.
The panel, featuring Arpan Sura, Paroma Sanyal, Mary Claire York and Tom Power, examined the origins of the 3.5 GHz band, its dynamic sharing framework and how iterative improvements, including “CBRS 2.0,” are strengthening the ecosystem. Wright noted that the discussion reinforced what the marketplace has already demonstrated: CBRS has moved well beyond its early “experiment” phase and is now a mature, thriving platform for decentralized innovation.
“CBRS is the private network band in the U.S.,” Wright wrote, pointing to Global Mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) reports showing that CBRS is the most widely used private wireless band globally – a position that has made the United States the clear leader in private wireless deployment.
As policymakers continue debating the future of mid-band spectrum policy, Wright’s message is clear: CBRS works, and it remains a proven framework for strengthening U.S. wireless leadership, expanding connectivity and enabling industrial innovation.
